Rise & Shine Intern Program

The Rise & Shine Intern Program provides college students and emerging professionals the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in youth development, education, and community engagement while making a meaningful impact in the lives of our scholars.

Our interns work directly alongside staff, volunteers, and scholars during afterschool programming and summer enrichment activities. They assist with tutoring, lead small group activities, support academic learning, and help create engaging educational experiences that encourage curiosity and confidence in our students.

More than assistants, our interns become mentors and role models. Scholars see in them examples of what is possible through education, perseverance, and service to others.

Through the internship experience, participants develop practical skills in leadership, communication, classroom support, and program coordination. They also gain valuable insight into nonprofit work and community-based youth programs.

Many of our interns come from regional colleges and universities and bring fresh perspectives, creativity, and energy to the program. In return, they leave with real-world experience and a deeper understanding of the power of mentorship and community impact.

The internship program is an important part of how Rise & Shine continues to grow. By investing in the next generation of educators, leaders, and advocates, we strengthen both our program and the communities we serve.
