Through our competitively funded grants, Rise & Shine operates its learning centers in three school districts. The longer a student stays enrolled in a high-quality Rise & Shine, Freedom School program, the more they stand to benefit. Many students attending for more than 30 days experience measurable improvements such as:
Increased grade promotion
Fewer absences
Improved grades
Higher test scores in English and math in grades 9–12
Fewer disciplinary incidents in middle and high school

Study Hall is ONLY available to current afterschool participants. During Study Hall, afterschool staff volunteers will help navigate homework agendas, answer questions, and maintain an environment that allows for focus.
Afterschool students will transition to their Study Hall room at the selected start time and then transition back to their Afterschool Track upon completion of their work. While this block is scheduled for one hour, we will accommodate students who finish early or those who need extra time.
