R&S video wins best of show!

We are proud to say that MAKING A DIFFERENCE NOW & FOREVER, created by the talented team at Brevard’s video marketing company Real Digital Productions, won both gold in its category and the overall Best of Show award at the Asheville ADDYs, the advertising world’s “Oscars.”

The RDP folks not only produced a powerful film that is aimed at helping us to increase support for our program, but they also offered a substantially discounted fee for their services. They spent countless hours getting to know us, outlining the major story elements, and then condensing and editing to produce a superb result.

One of the most moving features is an interview with R&S alumnus Will Boyd, currently a doctoral candidate at Tufts University. Will traveled all the way from Boston to take part and show his love for Rise & Shine.

The passion that we all feel for the program and the children is conveyed beautifully and compellingly through our video. If we had no other way to tell people about Rise & Shine, this powerful piece could stand alone and do that job superbly.

RISE & SHINE SCHOLARS SHINE!

The Rise & Shine program really works!

YOU are making a difference with your financial support and/or volunteer involvement. We recently received concrete evidence of the impact our efforts have on scholars' academic performance. Note the steady and substantial increase in the percentage of scholars who achieved honor roll status from the beginning of the school year:

  • 1ST QUARTER: 38% of the scholars were on the R&S honor roll

  • 2ND QUARTER: 43% of the scholars were on the R & S honor roll

  • 3RD QUARTER: 60% of the scholars were on the R & S honor roll

Rise & Shine honor roll is defined as having all "Mastery" or "Proficient" scores for K-2nd grades and making all As and Bs for 3rd-12th grades. In the school system, a student is not eligible for the honor roll until they reach 3rd grade and begin receiving letter grades (A-F).

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO TO MAKE A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE IN CHILDREN'S LIVES.

We have all been commenting on the progress that we have seen in the scholars. Now we have numerical proof!
